This is To Our Land, an independent, part time blog ran by Palestinian American writer and analyst Y L al-Sheikh. I am primarily interested in the relationship between the Palestinian liberation struggle and the Western world, but I also have in the past written about the American labor movement and regulatory policy at the FTC. To Our Land, named after the Darwish poem, will mostly feature discussions surrounding Palestine. As time goes on there will also be book reviews and, if time and financial situation permits, guest essays, among other things.

I was previously situated on Substack, but found the environment on the website too disagreeable. If you had been a subscriber to Friendship House (now defunct) then I hope you have found me here.
